Compliant & Controllable
We have designed our products to allow compliance with all currently defined or proposed legislation. The data capture only occurs within the HTML pages, or Flash/AIR applications which the site owner has instrumented. So it's a lot like a call center, where the caller is informed that the call "is being monitored for training and service quality reasons".
Where sensitive information is concerned the systems can be configured to prevent collection or storage of such information. Special versions of the product for sensitive (Government, School etc.) applications can be provided where the capability to gather any personal information (entered text, page content etc.) is completely disabled .
Celebrus never gathers other information from your disk or computer. If Celebrus is being used to monitor a site which provides cookies for its visitors, then it will collect a copy of this data for inclusion in any analysis, but again this can be controlled by the site operator.
The collection server allows precise control of data captured, to allow the site owner to operate the system in accordance with any relevant legislation and to meet their requirements for performance, usage and usability monitoring. So, in some circumstances the system will just record page load and unload times, so that your application provider or ISP can monitor response time and fix problems you are experiencing. In another situation the site owner may collect mouse clicks or field entries from some pages, to help them understand how people are using the pages and to help them build better sites.
The collection systems allow the site's visitors to control their own data collection - limiting the collection of textual data or stopping data collection completely. Data on how to do this is provided via the compact privacy policy (P3P policy) provided by the collection servers. Some site operators may also provide pages to control collection - on this site there are links here to control the data we collect from you.
Safe and Secure
Celebrus Technologies will use full SSL protocols when monitoring activity on secure pages, this ensures that the site's security is not compromised. Celebrus encrypts all transmitted data (even from non-secure pages), so no-one else can read the information it gathers - rendering the collection processes more secure than the web site itself.
When you leave a site that uses Celebrus, data collection will automatically stop.
Site operators who use our solutions determine how much (or little) data to collect and we require them to clearly inform their customers of the information they are collecting and why they are collecting it, and what they will do with it.
Sites using Celebrus must satisfy themselves that they have not configured the system in a way that breaches acceptable and legal standards of user security and privacy within their geography or environment. If the data they collect is to be linked to other personal information, or exported to other organizations, then the site owner should take qualified advice on the implications of any data protection, network or customer privacy legislation or codes of practice, which may apply to them.
Celebrus also advises its customers to notify their users of the information they collect and how it is processed, as part of their Privacy Policy. Organizations such as Trust-e (www.truste.org) can assist site owners in designing suitable privacy policies.
